Comment on FCA’s October Sales in Italy

  • Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) posted October sales in Italy of nearly 34,300 vehicles, with market share at 23.4%.
  • Pietro Gorlier, Chief Operating Officer for EMEA commented: "Similar to the third quarter, in October the market continued to reflect the partial effects of introduction of the new WLTP regulations. At the same time, FCA further strengthened its focus on sales quality, registering growth in retail, business fleet and long term rental sales channels while significantly reducing volumes for less profitable channels. In line with this strategy, Jeep continued to register monthly year-over-year growth and achieved a 4.3% market share for the ten months year-to-date."
  • FCA maintained a strong presence in the overall rankings, with a total of four models (Fiat Panda, Lancia Ypsilon, Jeep Renegade and Fiat 500X) in the top ten for the month.
  • The Jeep Compass was the best-selling vehicle in its segment for the month (9.8% segment share), the Lancia Ypsilon was the second best-selling vehicle in Italy overall and first in the B segment (13.3% segment share) and sales of the Alfa Romeo Stelvio nearly doubled compared to the first ten months of 2017
