April 2018 Fiat Chrysler Automobiles sales in Italy

 

Comment on FCA's April Sales in Italy

 

FCA posted April sales in Italy totaling nearly 46,000 vehicles and market share at 26.8%, with particularly positive results for Jeep and Alfa Romeo. Jeep brand sales were up 124.45% year-over-year to 7,500 vehicles, driven primarily by results for the Renegade and Compass, while market share more than doubled to 4.4%. Alfa Romeo sales were up 11.0%, driven by results for the Stelvio and Giulia, with more than 4,400 vehicles sold and market share at 2.6%. For Fiat brand, results reflected a balance between volume and quality of sales. FCA dominated the Italian rankings once again with a total of seven models in the top ten. These included the Fiat Panda, Fiat 500X, Lancia Ypsilon, Fiat 500, Fiat Tipo, Jeep Renegade and Fiat 500L.

 

FCA posted April sales in Italy of nearly 46,000 vehicles, with market share at 26.8%. For the four months year-to-date, sales totaled 204,200 vehicles and share was 27.4%.
FCA dominated the rankings once again with a total of seven models in the top ten. These included the Fiat Panda, number one overall, together with the Fiat 500X, Fiat 500, Fiat Tipo, Fiat 500L, Lancia Ypsilon and Jeep Renegade.

 

Fiat brand posted April sales of nearly 29,700 vehicles and market share was 17.3% for the month. Year-to-date, brand sales totaled nearly 137,000 vehicles and market share was 18.4%.
The brand continued to balance volume and quality of sales with retail sales increasing compared to less profitable channels, such as the rental market.All brand models posted positive results with a total of five ranking in the top ten. These included the Fiat Panda, Fiat 500X, Fiat 500, Fiat Tipo and Fiat 500L. The Fiat Panda was the best-selling vehicle in Italy once again in April with more than 8,700 vehicles sold and a 32.2% share of the A segment. Excellent results also for the 500X (first in its segment with a 17.4% share), the 500 (second in the A segment, with the Panda and 500 accounting for nearly 50.0% of segment sales), the Tipo (first in its segment with a 20.1% share) and the 500L (first in its segment with a 45.5% share).

 

Lancia posted April sales of 4,400 vehicles with market share at 2.6%. Year-to-date, brand sales totaled more than 18,000 vehicles with share at 2.4%.
The Ypsilon continued as one of the most popular vehicles in Italy, ranking fourth overall and second in the B segment with a 10.6% share.

 

Alfa Romeo closed the month with sales up 11.0% year-over-year to more than 4,400 vehicles and market share 10 basis points higher at 2.6%.
Year-to-date, sales were up 18.4% over the same period in 2017 to more than 18,800 vehicles and market share was 40 basis points higher at 2.5%.
These results were driven by the Giulia, one of the leaders in its segment once again in April with a 14.3% share, and the Stelvio, leader in its segment with a 14.3% share. The Giulietta was the third most popular vehicle in the Italian C segment in April.

 

Jeep brand sales were up 124.45% year-over-year with nearly 7,500 vehicles sold during the month. Share was up 230 basis points to 4.4%.
Year-to-date, brand sales were up 95.1% to 30,500 vehicles, with share 200 basis points higher at 4.1%.
The Compass and Renegade continued to drive brand results in Italy. The Compass was leader in its segment with a 12.4% share, while the Renegade accounted for a 15.6% segment share, second only to the Fiat 500X.
